Hong Kong 1104 km², 7 million people is the fifth largest city in China after Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin et Chongqing. Hong Kong comprises Hong Kong Island, Lantau Island, Kowloon Peninsula and the New Territories, including 262 Outlying Islands. The terrain in Hong Kong is steep, the culmination of the territory is the Tai Mo Shan at 958 meters.

The climate in Hong Kong is a subtropical climate with dry winter (Cwa according to the classification of Köppen). In the winter (January and February) is cloudy, but rain is very rare; average temperatures are about 17° C. The spring and summer (March-October) are hot, humid and rainy; average temperatures ranging from 20° C (in March) at 29° C (in July). From June to September the temperature exceeds 30° C almost every day and the rain is abundant. Fall (November and December) is regarded as the most enjoyable: the weather is sunny and the temperatures are mild (15-25° C).
